CDL A - Dump Truck Driver

Gordo, AL We are looking for an experienced CDL A - Dump Truck Driver (without an E Restriction) who must be skilled in safe operation utilizing a manual transmission dump truck. The ability to operate a wide variety of equipment in the area of excavation/bridge construction used in the building, maintenance and repair of bridges, roads, highways, parking lots, etc. would be very useful. To be successful in this role, the applicant must be a self-starter, team oriented and willing to operate a variety of equipment or perform various duties when needed. Must have a CDL A without an E Restriction to qualify for this position due to dump trucks having manual transmission.

Required: CDL A (without an E Restriction) Essential Functions:

• Load and unload products from dump trucks having manual transmission.
• Capable of unloading multiple stop loads.
• Proper placement of materials at job site.
• Identify different types and sizes of material.
• Ability to understand, read, interpret grade stakes.
• Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and training.
• Assists in training lower-level employees performing the maintenance and repair duties as required or assigned.
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and provides required reports. Communication to foreman/superintendent regarding defects and needed repairs.
• Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition.
• Properly follow all state and federal agencies safety procedures.
• Promotes and complies with all company safety policies and procedures; brings problems to the attention of the foreman, project manager, safety director or HR manager.
• Maintain required certifications required by all state and federal agencies and company safety programs.
• Daily reporting of time, progress and materials used through electronic reporting, as assigned.
• Maintain professional attitude with owners, inspectors, public and company personnel.

Required Education and Experience:

• CDL A (without an E Restriction)
• At least two (2) years of experience in operating dump trucks and other large equipment similar to industry
• Knowledge of the construction industry
• Must have acceptable driving record throughout employment (driving record changes/updates will be monitored annually)
• Meet the DOT federal regulations for certification annually
• Valid drivers license
• High School diploma or GED

Pay: $18.00/hour paid weekly

Schedule: Full-Time 10-hr shifts + OT
