Estate Planning / Elder Law Attorney Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to join our growing team. This position would be traveling between our Cedar Rapids Office and Dubuque Office, meeting with clients at both locations throughout the week. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, skilled in building strong client relationships, and passionate about helping individuals plan for their future and protect their loved ones.

Estate Planning / Elder Law Attorney Key Responsibilities:

• Design customized estate plans that align with each client’s unique goals, family dynamics, and financial situation, including the preparation of wills, trusts, and other essential planning documents.
• Advise clients on Medicaid planning, long-term care, and asset protection strategies
• Represent clients in probate and estate administration matters
• Stay up to date on changes in elder law and estate planning legislation
• Participate in client education and community outreach events
• Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure high-quality client service

Estate Planning / Elder Law Attorney Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Iowa
• 3+ years of experience in estate planning and elder law preferred
• Strong knowledge of probate, Medicaid, and trust administration
• Experience with Real Estate and Corporate Law preferred
• Experience in Social Security preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong willingness to network with other professionals
• Empathy, patience, and professionalism in dealing with clients and team members
• Ability to manage multiple client matters with attention to detail and deadlines
• Proficiency with technology
• Ability to follow proven firm procedures and policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
