Job Description

About Us:

Hype and Vice is a fast-growing, women-founded brand that merges fashion and team spirit. We create licensed college and sports apparel with a trend-forward, community-driven approach.

The Role:

This position is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and organization. You’ll work closely with the design and production teams to:

  • Lead and execute fashion design and product development from concept through production, ensuring all styles align with the Hype and Vice brand, fit standards, and quality expectations.
  • Create, maintain, and approve detailed tech packs, including specifications, measurements, materials, and construction details.
  • Lead the sampling process with domestic and international manufacturers, managing revisions, approvals, timelines, and final sign-off.
  • Drive trend research and product ideation across sportswear, streetwear, and women’s fashion to inform new styles, silhouettes, and seasonal direction.
  • Define and standardize new designs before cross-team handoff to ensure consistency and brand cohesion.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of graphic designers, reviewing artwork, logo placement, and production-ready files prior to handoff.
  • Review and approve all styles and graphics prior to production, ensuring accuracy in fit, construction, embellishment, and execution.
  • Set and oversee logo and graphic placement standards across all garments.
  • Maintain product development tracking in Excel, including timelines, sample status, approvals, and production schedules.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, production, and marketing to bring products to market efficiently and on schedule.
  • Proactively pitch and develop new style ideas to expand and evolve the product assortment.

Who You Are:

  • A trend-obsessed creative with an eye for what's next in fashion, particularly in sportswear and streetwear.
  • Super organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Experienced in tech packs, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
  • Comfortable working with manufacturers and understanding the sampling and production process.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Excel (experience with PLM software is a plus).
  • Passionate about blending fashion and function in innovative ways.

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, garment dyeing, and embellishment techniques.
  • Experience working with both domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Ability to analyze data in Excel, including tracking samples, production status, and costing.

Why Join Us:

  • Work with a dynamic team in a growing apparel brand.
  • Hybrid work model – in office 3 days a week.
  • Competitive pay ($70K), health benefits, PTO, and 401(k).

To Apply:

Please submit your resume and portfolio.
