Position: Global Operations Director

Location: Nashua, NH, USA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking a Global Operations Director to join our team located in Nashua, NH, USA.

This leadership role reports directly to the General Manager. The Global Operations Director is accountable for the performance of the Operations functions at all locations, including Production, Planning, Continuous Improvement, Materials/Logistics and Global Capacity Planning. This team member will lead all manufacturing operations to maximize productivity, quality, and the on-time and accurate delivery of products and services to customers. The successful candidate for this position will be a change agent with a high degree of accountability and business ethics who can dynamically lead teams. Key responsibilities will include driving customer-focused improvements in quality and delivery, reducing operating costs, providing strategic and tactical leadership for the multiple operations and increasing productivity and material flow through effective use of lean manufacturing principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, promote, and drive compliance to all standard operating procedures
  • Directly lead, develop, and supervise factory managers (5 plants globally)
  • Implement an optimal organizational structure to grow and support the business
  • At an annual cadence, develop and implement the 3 year look ahead strategic plan for the business unit
  • Ensure that factories have appropriate resources and are managed to deliver forecasted results
  • Focus on results; coordinate and drive all locations to achieve performance goals
  • Deliver on targets for key performance metrics including quality, productivity, cost, and delivery
  • Plan and execute new product introduction and scale to full production to meet cost targets and customer quality/delivery
  • Drive superior customer service (on-time delivery and responsiveness)
  • Drive factory managers and team on compliance with all customer audits and global agency standards such as RBA, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing and other appropriate tools
  • Promote environmental, health and safety philosophies and processes that reduce workplace injuries and environmental impact
  • Plan for and recommend necessary resources to ensure success that include capital equipment, trained employees, appropriate facilities, effective infrastructure, and materials

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in direct operations/manufacturing management role with responsibility for leading and growing a customer-focused business
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple global factory locations and managing complex product transfers between countries
  • Ability to travel 50 - 60% to visit customers and manufacturing sites
  • Connector or cable component experience ( required)
  • Expert at using data to drive decision-making and as a basis for functional management
  • Experience with automation development and implementation
  • Experience working with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing tools, emphasis on results process improvement
  • Solid presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact well with customers
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and cross-cultural teams at various locations.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
