Internal Medicine - Physician at Legacy Community Health System summary:

The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive health assessments, diagnostic testing, and patient care coordination at a large Federally Qualified Health Center in Southeast Texas. They collaborate with healthcare professionals, supervise mid-level providers, and educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention. The role requires licensure in Texas, proficiency in EMR systems, and a commitment to ongoing medical education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate comprehensive health assessments leveraging advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Identify and address immediate patient needs, utilizing innovative referral systems for long-term management.
  • Conduct physical examinations and maintain meticulous documentation for seamless patient care coordination.
  • Engage in collaborative consultations with specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure cutting-edge treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support data-driven therapeutic decisions.
  • Supervise and mentor mid-level providers, enhancing team capabilities and healthcare delivery.
  • Educate patients on cutting-edge health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment to enhance patient care and customer service delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including participation in regular safety training and audits.
  • Commit to lifelong learning by completing annual education programs and staying ahead in medical advancements.

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be licensed in Texas as an MD or DO
  • Must have active DEA
  • Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency or clinical fellowship in Internal Medicine; a current certification in Internal Medicine
  • Ability to meet Legacy Community Health’s EPIC proficiency requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting.
  • Must be proficient with all aspects of EMR.
