Jr. Cloud Software Engineer

TS/SCI Security Clearance

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a passion for cloud technologies. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to gain hands-on experience in cloud technologies while utilizing their clearance.

Job Description : This role is fully onsite and focuses on developing, deploying, and maintaining applications and systems in Microsoft Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in software engineering and cloud computing, with a strong desire to develop their skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy scripts, applications, and systems in Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement cloud-based solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using C#, Python, Java, PowerShell, or Bicep.
• Work with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and Azure SQL.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cloud applications for performance and security.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
• Maintain documentation for software engineering processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in software engineering (internships or personal projects count).

Clearance Requirement

• Top Secret clearance required
• Must hold 8140 Certification – IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

Required Job Specific Skills

• Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Basic understanding of networking, databases, and security principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Other Preferred Job Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of Identity Access Management and Shared Security responsibilities.
• Broad understanding of backup and/or storage principles, theories, and concepts within the cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise server, backup and/or storage solutions within the cloud environments.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Broad troubleshooting knowledge to include the areas of storage, backups, server operating systems and networks.
• Knowledge of cloud service providers.
• Cloud command line scripting skills
• Documentation skills to include creating and updating detailed environment design, installation, and support documentation.
• Outstanding communication, project & priority management, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of information life-cycle management concepts and best practices.
