Job Description

Our firm is seeking a Legal Assistant for our Mass Torts department with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to join our team. You will be responsible for contacting medical providers for instructions on how to submit requests for medical records, submitting requests for records, downloading and saving client medical records, reviewing and paying medical record invoices, following up with providers regarding the status of medical records requests. Additionally, you will be corresponding with clients via phone and email to obtain relevant information to prosecute claims on their behalf, provide case status updates, and other projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Request and download client medical records:
  • Pay invoices for medical records;
  • Follow up with medical providers to obtain status of medical record requests;
  • Correspond with clients for case updates and case information;
  • Assist Attorneys and Paralegals with various projects and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of office experience;
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as a team player;
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize with an appropriate strong sense of urgency;
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a professional phone demeanor;
  • Ability to call medical providers and build rapport while efficiently managing the conversation to obtain necessary information;
  • Must have Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Additional Competencies:

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM database);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word & Outlook;
  • Law firm, Pharma, or Pre-med experience or interest;
  • 60+ words per minute typing speed.
