Job Description

Summary:

The Offshore Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of offshore pipeline systems. The role includes preparing specifications, drawings, and scopes of work; performing design and installation analysis; verifying contractor deliverables; coordinating with other disciplines; and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Field experience and collaboration with clients and regulatory bodies are also expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design offshore pipelines and prepare related specifications and drawings.
• Perform installation and intervention analysis.
• Draft scopes of work for pipe supply, coating, and installation.
• Review and verify contractor and vendor documentation.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Support construction and project teams in meeting pipeline requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
• Contribute to cost estimates, proposals, and staffing plans.
• Mentor and check the work of junior engineers.
• Promote a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of offshore pipeline codes (e.g., DNV).
• Proficient in pipeline analysis software.
• Experienced in both conventional and trenchless shore crossings.
• Familiar with subsea construction methods and equipment.
• Capable of leading interface management and consultant oversight.
• Direct field experience aboard pipeline installation vessels.
• Effective communicator with strong report writing skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (or international equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or another jurisdiction preferred; EIT license acceptable.
