Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the company’s products and/or development processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Hire and trains quality assurance staff.

· Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.

· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

· Provides leadership to the quality assurance and quality control teams, ensuring compliance with Company's product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.

· Collects and evaluates production samples, ensuring that materials and products meet acceptable quality and integrity standards.

· Coordinates employee efforts to ensure efficient production and manufacturing lines.

· Facilitates communication among production departments and management.

· Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.

· Works closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement to align quality goals with overall company objectives.

· Reviews and analyzes quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, proposing corrective actions as necessary.

· Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards for team members.

· Prepare and present reports and metrics to management regarding quality performance and improvement initiatives.

· Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate personnel.

· Drafts and implement policies and procedures to improve the manufacturing process and the quality of goods produced.

· Drafts and maintains logs, records, and other documentation of testing procedures, methodologies, and criteria.

· Maintains records of test results, defects identified, and other key metrics related to quality control.

· Participate in product testing.

· Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.

· Reviews client, customer and user feedback.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, guidelines, and policies.

· Analyzes quality control test results and offers feedback and interpretations of those results to production management or staff.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and technological advances in the applicable industry and in the quality control field.

· Drafts and maintain standard operating procedures, manuals, and documentation for the manufacturing and QA/QC processes.

· Monitors and periodically reports on production quality, nonconformance, trends, and underlying causes of defects in products or processes.

· Ceases production when serious product defects or risks arise.

· Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· At least three years of related experience in manufacturing and production industry.

· A bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field is required.

· Advanced degrees or certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO) are preferred.

· Three to five years of experience in related field required with supervisory experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Prolonged periods of walking around a warehouse.

· Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. at times.

· Must be able to visibly read blueprints, diagrams, and other documents.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Supervisory: 3 years (Preferred)
