• Position Summary
  • A radiation oncologist is a physician with advanced training, experience and education that provides them with the skills necessary to examine, diagnose, and manager or treatment cancerous tumors.

• Core Job Functions
  • Provides supervision of all clinical/medical services rendered. Study radiographic images and medical reports, establish plan of care for patients and monitors patients through visits. Plan tumor localization and prescribe appropriate treatments based on clinical evidence
  • Maintains liaison with other disciplines such as social services, nutritional support, speech therapy, physical therapy, pastoral care and pain management. Participates in clinical trial accruals.
  • Attends and participates in cancer committee conferences, presents oncology annual report with executive oncology director. Assume weekly on call status on a rotation basis.
  • Consults with other physicians for the continuum of care.
  • Networks with community physician to increase referrals. Assures fiscal compliance related to patient billing and coding and Correctly bill patients for services and accurately document to support charges. Make recommendations on capital purchases, facility design and operational issues. Assist with the selection of new equipment and services.
