Prominent commercial real estate development, investment, and asset management company is seeking a JD-trained professional to join its transactional team in a non-practice role to support the leasing, acquisition, disposition, and management of its growing portfolio of commercial real estate assets.

Role Overview

• • This position is ideal for a former attorney or legally trained professional who enjoys deal work, precision, and ownership of complex documents—but prefers a collaborative, business-oriented environment over traditional law firm practice.
  • The role involves hands-on participation in commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions , working directly with ownership and outside counsel across a diverse real estate portfolio.
  • Serve as a key internal resource on transactional matters, with responsibility for reviewing, coordinating, and administering real estate documents from inception through execution and ongoing administration of the asset and related documents.
  • Act as the connective tissue between ownership, brokers, lenders, and outside counsel to ensure transactions move efficiently and accurately.

Core Responsibilities

• • Review, negotiate, and administer commercial lease documents, including new leases, renewals, amendments, assignments, and related agreements.
  • Maintain and manage transaction files, abstracts, critical dates, and compliance items across multiple transaction types and assets.
  • Identify inconsistencies, risk items, and missing provisions in transaction documents and elevate them appropriately to ownership or outside counsel.
  • Develop and refine internal processes for document management, tracking, and transaction workflow.

Qualifications

• • JD strongly preferred (but not required); bar admission not required and not expected.
  • Experience reviewing and working with contracts and legal documents in a law firm, in-house, title company or similar transactional setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong issue-spotting ability, and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; comfort working with complex document sets.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
