Nortek Medical Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Perioperative for a nursing job in Mammoth Lakes, California.

The PASS Department Registered Nurse is responsible for developing and implementing individualized plans of care based on identified medical and nursing diagnoses. Drawing on knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, human behavior, and established standards of practice, the RN ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. This role works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support a seamless preoperative process, ensuring all documentation, orders, and evaluations are completed according to the PASS Center flow model and Anesthesia Pre-Op Testing guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Communicate timely and relevant case information to anesthesia providers.
Coordinate necessary consultations with Hospitalists.
Receive and review labs, imaging, test results, and medical histories promptly.
Relay pertinent information to appropriate providers and obtain timely clinical decisions.
Exercise independent judgment when determining what information to escalate and to whom.
Participate in care coordination with a focus on Total Joint patients.
Address post-care concerns and communicate necessary updates to involved parties.
Collaborate with PACU staff regarding surgical patients.
Conduct patient assessments following anesthesia guidelines established by the Anesthesiology Department.
Perform preoperative nursing assessments via in-person PASS visits or telephone, documenting findings in the electronic health record and scheduling labs, tests, and PAT visits per protocol.
Ensure completion of add-on pre-operative assessments as needed.

 

Qualifications:\nActive Registered Nurse license in the State of California (required)\nCurrent BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required)\n\nSchedule \nPer diem position; varied day shifts
