Freight Broker (Start-Up Role - Build with Us)

Location: Asheville, NC (Biltmore Park) – In Office

Serve Freight is a growing freight brokerage startup entering our second year with a mission bigger than logistics. We’re looking for a  Freight Broker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at  customer and carrier relationships , and is driven to generate revenue by finding and booking profitable loads. This is a  high-impact, revenue-focused role with uncapped earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Business Development

• Prospect and develop new shipper accounts through calls, emails, and event outreach (e.g., trade shows).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with (current) shippers to secure consistent freight opportunities.
• Understand customer needs, negotiate pricing, and close freight deals.

Carrier Sourcing & Negotiation

• Identify and onboard reliable carriers for current and future shipments.
• Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure competitive pricing while maximizing margins.
• Manage carrier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and service quality.

Freight Operations Management

• Oversee quoting, booking, and tracking of shipments from start to finish.
• Provide proactive updates to shippers and carriers, resolving any issues quickly.
• Keep all load details and communications updated in our Turvo TMS, HubSpot, and other systems.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven ability (or strong interest) in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation sales.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong work ethic, persistence, and willingness to make  high-volume outreach calls/emails.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with logistics and CRM tools (Turvo, HubSpot).
• Highly organized and able to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Previous logistics or carrier sales experience is  a plus , but not required.

What Success Looks Like

• You consistently book loads and increase gross profit month-over-month.
• You’ve built a solid network of shippers and carriers.
• Shipments are booked efficiently and executed with minimal issues.
• Your pipeline of business is growing steadily through persistence and relationship-building.

What You Can Earn

This role combines a competitive base salary with  uncapped commission potential — your earnings grow as you grow your book of business.

Salary: $45,000 – $70,000 base + uncapped commissions + bonuses (OTE: $80,000-$150,000)
