Description Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 Exempt (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position)
Full Time 40 hours Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pm
GENERAL SCOPE: Under the guidance of and along with Director of Nutrition, the Clinical Nutrition Specialist is responsible for the operation and implementation of the Nutrition Care Program based on established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Across the campus with a specific focus on the Short Term Rehab Unit. Assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the dining service department with the facility plan of operations. Assists with the provision of nutrition care throughout the community.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Education and Professional Requirements: Must have four-year degree in Nutrition or related field and must have current credentials as RD or RDN. Masters preferred
. Essential Functions - Copes with most problems independently-confers with supervisor on unusual problems.
- Will manage a caseload of residents as needed. This would include but not be limited to monitoring resident’s weights, skin, meal intake, and overall nutritional status on a minimum of a quarterly basis. This also includes the completion of pertinent charting including MDS.
- Assists in providing quality food and enjoyable dining experience for residents, guests, and staff.
- Coordinates with food service supervisors if needed.
- Understands and applies all state and federal guidelines, always assuring “inspection ready” status.
- Assists with interdisciplinary and interdepartmental relations. Maintains close working relationship with dining service supervisors, employees and other community departments.
- Participates in wellness activities as applicable in the community.
- Extensive utilization of Diet Software-in the absence of diet clerk will run/delegate menu software.
- Coordinates clinical nutrition team scheduling
- Precepts all Dietetic Interns and Nutrition Management Students.
- Acts as a direct liaison to the Short Term Rehab program
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in acute or long term care setting with a minimum of five years clinical experience with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience in these fields.
