Responsibilities What You'll Do as a Divisional Safety Trainer The Divisional Safety Trainer will be responsible for compliance-related certification and training as required by Lewis Tree Service, Customers, as well as State and Federal law. The Divisional Safety Trainer will also identify and implement additional training opportunities in collaboration with Division Leadership. The Safety Trainer will ensure new employees are compliant with all required training and certifications within 45 calendar days of hire. On an ongoing basis, comply with all safety procedures and policies. These practices will be modeled and reinforced with craftworkers The Safety Trainer will be responsible for identifying and administering supplemental training as needed when identified through crew/team observations. Administer First Aid and CPR training/certification Roping and Rigging Training Certification, Recertification, and Evaluations. Ensure employees are compliant with the Technical Skills and Knowledge Certification (TKSC) and Testing. Provide support on the Driver's certification Enterprise safety and training initiatives Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Weekly activity related to After Action Reviews to be utilized as learning tools for leadership and craft workers. Participate in at least one Learning Team quarterly. Support additional training initiatives related to safety and human performance as identified by operational leadership. Support the Divisional Leadership team in filling the roles of crew leader or crew member. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications What You Bring 3-5 Years Line Clearance Experience High School Diploma or the equivalent Certified Tree Care Safety Professional credential - Must have or obtain as well as maintain credentials Valid Driver's License as required Must have or obtain an ISA Certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient presentation skills. Proficient with standard office equipment Proficient with Microsoft Office. Ability to effectively train new and experienced employees (Climb and aloft) The position requires regular travel, including overnights and out-of-state storm response by ground and/or air transportation. Physical Demands Lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height or higher Push or pull up to 50 lbs. Walk or hike up to one mile on uneven terrain Endure extreme climate variances (e.g., severe cold to high heat and humidity) Hear, speak, see, and communicate effectively Operate two-handed tools and equipment Continuously - Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods. Frequently- Stooping/Kneeling, Climbing Stairs/Ladders, reaching, and performing repetitive keystrokes. Occasionally - Driving, Tree Ascending/Descending, and aloft in aerial devices. Comments: You should expect variability in size, proportions, conditions, and weights of supplies, equipment, and work conditions. Environmental Conditions: Work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions Moderate exposure to noise and temperature extremes Occasional exposure to hazardous materials and poor air quality Must use OSHA/ANSI-compliant PPE at all times Continuously - Outdoor work Occasionally - Noise Levels Frequently - Extreme Temperatures Rarely - Contact with hazardous materials or air quality issues Comments: You should expect variability based on regional weather patterns.
