Position Title:             ESY Bus Monitor

Location:                     Kittery School District
Reports To:                 Director of Special Services

Position Start Date:    July 7, 2025

The Kittery School District is currently seeking a qualified bus monitor for our Extended School Year (ESY) program running Monday through Thursday, July 7 - August 7. The individual will be accompanying students with special needs being transported by specialized transportation to all Kittery Schools. The bus runs mornings and afternoons on days ESY is in session. 

The ideal candidate for this position will

• Maintain confidentiality of all student, family and employee related information
• Review and reinforce appropriate behaviors on the bus
• Assist with managing student behaviors on the bus as issues arise
• Exhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and families
• Participate and successfully complete required training, as directed by the supervisor
• Communicate any concerns immediately to the Special Education Director
• Perform any other appropriate duties the Special Education Director/Supervisor deems necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Candidates must submit to a Criminal History Record through the Maine Department of Education.
