Junior WordPress Developer

Our growing list of clients includes B2B SaaS companies that specialize in everything from HR to cybersecurity.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior WordPress Developer to join our team. As a Junior WordPress Developer, you will play a vital role in updating, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about web development and wants to enhance their skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment while working closely with experienced Senior Developers.

Responsibilities:

1. WordPress Website Development: With the assistance of a Senior WordPress Developer as your team lead, you will collaborate with the design and development teams to build visually appealing and functional WordPress websites. Convert design mock-ups and wireframes into responsive and pixel-perfect WordPress themes.
2. Theme Customization: Customize existing WordPress themes and templates to meet client requirements, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. Implement plugins and extensions as needed to enhance website functionality. Experience with Kadence, Enfold, Gutenberg and ACF is preferred.
3. Content Management: Assist in the management of website content, including creating and editing pages, posts, and media files. Ensure content is properly formatted, optimized for search engines, and accessible. Most of your work in this realm will be done within WordPress, but you may also be asked to work within HubSpot.
4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, bugs, and errors on WordPress websites. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and security checks to ensure optimal website performance.
5. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the functionality and compatibility of WordPress websites across different browsers, devices, and platforms. Resolve any identified issues promptly.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the design, development, and project management teams to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure project milestones are met. Collaborate on cross-functional projects and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

1. Education and Experience:
   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
   • Previous experience with WordPress development (e.g., internships, personal projects, freelance work) is preferred but not mandatory.
2. Technical Skills:
   • Proficiency in WordPress development, including theme customization, plugin integration, and content management.
   • Strong understanding of front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
   • Familiarity with PHP and MySQL for custom theme and plugin development.
   • Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, and experience with code repositories like GitHub.
3. Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring websites are visually appealing and functionally sound, both before launch and after.
4. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently. Proactively seek innovative solutions to improve website performance and user experience.
5. Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to learn from senior developers and contribute to a positive team culture.
6. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
7. A desire to learn and to be an important part of a dynamic team.
