About the Role:

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from origin to destination within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of logistics operations, including freight forwarding, dispatching, and warehouse management, to meet customer demands and company objectives. The successful candidate will manage international shipping processes, oversee shipping and receiving activities, and handle purchase orders to maintain accurate inventory and timely deliveries. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, the Logistics Coordinator ensures compliance with regulations and optimizes supply chain performance. Ultimately, this role contributes to reducing costs, improving service levels, and supporting the overall success of the logistics function within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
  • Experience with international shipping regulations and customs documentation.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of purchase order processing and procurement procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement projects within logistics operations.
  • Bonded Cargo Handling a plus
  • Magaya experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor freight forwarding activities to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Manage dispatching schedules and communicate with carriers to optimize delivery routes and timelines.
  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and shipping to maintain inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Process and track purchase orders, ensuring proper documentation and timely fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with international logistics partners to manage customs clearance and compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and transportation costs for reporting and analysis.
  • Resolve logistical issues and delays by proactively communicating with stakeholders and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes and reduce operational costs.
