Mail Processor
Location- Birmingham, AL

Contract- 6 Months
Experience & Education Requirements
  • 0-5 years of experience in mailroom, clerical, or office support roles
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Position Summary

The Mail Processor is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing mail operations within the organization. This includes sorting, labeling, and delivering mail accurately, preparing certified and first-class mail for dispatch, and assisting with additional mailroom and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and capable of supporting mailroom functions independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Mail Handling & Distribution
  • Receive and sort incoming mail, packages, and deliveries
  • Ensure mail is properly labeled and distributed to the appropriate recipients
  • Prepare and dispatch outgoing mail , including letters, parcels, and packages
  • Apply postage , attach documentation, and manage dispatch records
Certified & First-Class Mail
  • Review, prep, and send Certified and First-Class Mail accurately and on schedule
  • Ensure all mail meets postal deadlines and documentation requirements
  • Regularly transport mail to the post office for timely delivery
Mailroom Support & Oversight
  • Handle overflow tasks such as office supply management and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mailroom area
  • Serve as backup for Facilities Manager in managing daily mailroom operations
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as data entry, record-keeping , and support tasks as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with postal systems and procedures is a plus
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and transport mail items regularly
