Rocky Mountain Laboratories specializes in molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases and toxicology. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge diagnostics and a customer-focused approach.

This part-time courier role supports the safe and timely transport of medical specimens and supplies in the Reno area. This is a new market launch, and you’ll be among the first couriers serving this region. Couriers use a company vehicle and are expected to handle deliveries with care, follow protocols, and provide excellent customer service.

Tentative Start Date: June 9, 2025

Schedule:

• 2 part-time openings:
  • #1 Monday–Wednesday 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM  
  • #2 Thursday–Saturday 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM  
• Approx. 15 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Pick up and deliver medical specimens and supplies on schedule
• Prioritize specimen integrity and time-sensitive deliveries
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and clinic staff to coordinate pickups and troubleshoot issues
• Use routing software or GPS and update delivery logs in real-time
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and supply inventory
• Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature-sensitive specimens (e.g., ice packs, biohazard bags)
• Complete and submit the required documentation accurately
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance needs
• Represent the company professionally and courteously
• Assist with occasional cross-coverage or backup routes
• Assist with training new couriers in the Reno area.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• At least 2 years of driving experience
• Active smartphone with data plan
• Comfortable driving at night and in varying weather conditions
• Strong sense of direction and familiarity with navigation tools
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and organized
• Personal liability auto insurance is required (for eligibility to drive a company vehicle)
• Must be able to lift 25–30 lbs and get in/out of the vehicle frequently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous courier, delivery, or logistics experience
• Familiarity with medical, clinical, or specimen transport protocols
• Experience driving during night hours or in rural areas
• Good communication skills and comfort using mobile apps/software
• Knowledge of Reno, Sparks, and the surrounding roadways
• Availability for occasional route coverage or holiday shifts

Location: Reno, Nevada, and surrounding area
Pay: $18.00/hour
Status: Part-time, W2

• Company vehicle provided during shifts
• Eligible for 8% differential for hours worked between 8 PM–4 AM and weekends
• Up to a 10% monthly performance bonus, depending on merit
• Pay is weekly on Fridays
