Salary

$17.80 - $28.48 Hourly

$37,029 - $59,246 Annually

This position is a Pay Band 55

Why does the job exist?

Under direction and guidance of the Office of Professional Standards (OPS) Bureau Chief, this position will assign investigators to OPS cases while acting as a liaison for the Bureau Chief to maintain communication with investigators. In addition, this position will assist with investigative research; assist in document preparation/correspondence; conduct investigative tasks; and will maintain a case management/tracking system to ensure investigative time frames are being met.

How does it get done?

  • Maintain case files, process/distribute mail, participate in meetings/trainings as needed, and work
collaboratively with department staff.
  • Assist in preparing investigations.
  • Conduct research for investigators on current investigations to include past practice and policy violations.
  • Compose and prepare correspondence.
  • Maintain database for case management.
  • Data entry.
  • Proofread and check investigative reports for mistakes.

  • New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD)

Minimum Qualification

High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

  • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
