Software Engineer (TS/SCI + CI Polygraph)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in Python, AWS cloud technologies, DevSecOps, and Atlassian toolsets. This contract supports mission-critical government programs in secure environments. The role is fully on-site and requires hands-on development, secure practices, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Python applications aligned with mission and
cybersecurity requirements.
Implement and manage DevSecOps pipelines including secure automation, CI, and CD
for cloud and on-prem systems.
Develop and support AWS-based solutions with secure, resilient, and scalable
architectures that meet DoD/IC cloud standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, contribute to technical
milestones, and deliver secure, high-quality software.
Apply secure coding practices ensuring compliance with DoD, IC, RMF, and STIG/SRG
requirements.
Use Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for task tracking, documentation, and
code management.
Troubleshoot and optimize applications, pipelines, and cloud workloads for performance,
security, and reliability.
Support integration, testing, and deployment of cloud and on-prem systems in classified
environments.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (mandatory).
5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on Python
skills.
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, API Gateway,
Terraform/CloudFormation, etc.
Proven ability to build and operate secure DevSecOps pipelines with automated security
scanning.
Strong understanding of secure development practices and DoD/IC cybersecurity
frameworks and accreditation.
Proficiency with Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket.
Experience working in classified hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
Ability to work on-site 5 days per week at one of the designated locations.
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, defense, or aerospace programs.
Knowledge of:
o Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation
o CI/CD Tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline
o Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
o Automated Security Tools: SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC scanning
Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, identity services, or cross-domain solutions
