Water Treatment Plant Operator

Shoshone Municipal Pipeline is looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator in Cody, Wyoming. This is a great opportunity for a long and rewarding career in the professional water treatment industry with room for growth. Preference will be given to licensed water operators, but entry-level applicants are welcome to apply.

In this role, you will be keeping our facilities running smoothly by performing various plant tasks while learning the ins and outs of operating our 16.5 MGD conventional surface water treatment plant and 70 plus miles of supply and transmission water pipelines. Working alongside our experienced operators, you'll receive hands-on training to become a skilled Water Treatment Operator. With our support, you will be required to obtain the necessary certifications within a set timeframe (see details below).

The various positions and starting wages listed below are based on experience and certification levels:

• Water Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training Entry level/No experience, $24.90 to $28.00 per hour DOE
• Water Treatment Plant Operator II - 1 Years Experience, currently holds State of Wyoming Level 2 Water Treatment License, $28.38 - $31.47 per hour DOE
• Water Treatment Plant Operator III - 2 Years Experience, currently holds State of Wyoming Level 3 Water Treatment License, $30.44 - $33.82 per hour DOE
• Water Treatment Plant Operator IV - 3 Years of Experience, currently holds State of Wyoming Level 4 Water Treatment License, $36.14 - $38.55 per hour DOE

Duties

• Operate grounds keeping equipment to maintain plant and pipeline facilities and grounds
• Perform routine operational, maintenance, and custodial duties
• Ensure cleanliness of assigned areas and proper storage of equipment and supplies
• Learn to operate and maintain the water treatment plant and the raw and treated water pipelines
• Learn to maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, report, and perform maintenance and repairs of plant and pipeline equipment
• Perform safe unloading, handling, mixing, and storage of chemicals
• Moderate to heavy physical effort required in connection with the operation and maintenance of the water plant and pipelines
• Overtime, on-call, and weekend work as scheduled
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record

Employer will assist in obtaining the following requirements:

• State of Wyoming Level 1 Water Treatment license - obtain within 6 months of employment
• State of Wyoming Level 2 Water Treatment license - obtain within 1 year of employment
• State of Wyoming Level 3 Water Treatment license - obtain within 2 years of employment
• State of Wyoming Level 4 Water Treatment license - obtain within 3 years of employment
• State of Wyoming Level 2 Water Distribution license - obtain within 2 years of employment
• Within one year of employment, on-call employees are required to have primary residence within 45 minutes of the Water Treatment Plant and 15 minutes within SMP infrastructure.
